I am really enjoying my holiday break!  One cool way I got to enjoy it was by visiting the Ebony Fashion Fair exhibit at The Charles H. Wright Museum.

This exhibition celebrates the 50 year history of the “fashion spectacle that redefined the concepts of beauty, style and empowerment for black Americans.”  It was an annual fashion show that traveled across the United States and other countries from 1958 until 2009 created by Eunice Johnson.

I just LOVE seeing the different garments from decades ago, and seeing how they have inspired our fashion trends of today.  Here are a few of my favs from the exhibit…

I LOVE the bright colors of this vintage YSL dress.  I could definitely see my grandmother wearing something like this back in the day…lol.

This French floral bridal gown is just AMAZING!!

I must admit…I don’t remember ever hearing of Balmain until Kim K. came along.  I would have never thought they were around back in ’88. (shout-out to the 88 babies 😀 )

…but it’s Alaia!!! (you’ll have to be a Clueless junkie to get it. 😉 )

There were just so many great looks!!! Here’s a few more..lol
