Over the weekend I had the opportunity to attend my first ballet!

Of course I had to go and support Misty Copeland because she is just so dope.  She is such a trailblazer, and gives little brown girls like me the courage to follow our dreams.  So, expect my surprise when I realized that I had gotten tickets to the show that Misty wasn’t performing in.  Even though I was SO disappointed, devastated, and heartbroken – all at the same time, I still thoroughly enjoyed my first ballet experience.

All I think about when I hear the word  ballet is tutus and slippers.  I figured this was the perfect time to pull out my tulle dress from GoJane.  It was so cute and fun!  It made me feel like I should have been on stage with all the performers.  I added my Chanel inspired brooch to add a timeless look to the ensemble.  A very chic look for a day of ballet! 🙂

All in all it was a great experience event though I didn’t get to see Misty perform.  Maybe I will check out her touring schedule and take a trip….. 😉
