Happy Holidays! 😀

My first holiday party of the 2015 season was A Holiday AKAsion hosted by the Pearls of Foundation in partnership with the Pi Tau Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.  The foundation helps to raise funds for scholarships and programs in the local community.  They celebrated this season with a party that was the epitome of holiday chic!  The evening was filled with great eats, dancing, and even raffle prizes….which I won! 😀

The winter holiday season is all about flashy fabrics and eye catching garments.  My favorite winter trend is velvet.  Something about it just screams chic-ness….(yea I just made that up lol). It feels and looks good, so that’s a win-win for me.  This velvet skirt has a split up the middle, perfect for doing the hustle all night. 😉  I paired it with this black turtleneck bodysuit.  Growing up I despised turtlenecks; I would always stretch them out because I felt like I was choking.  This one doesn’t seem to come as high up on my neck so it didn’t bother at all.  I wore minimal jewelry, and wanted the focus to be on my Chanel inspired pin. 🙂
