🙂
Detroit Young Professionals always has great events, and their behind the scenes series with Gail Perry-Mason was definitely one of my favs!  I follow her work, and I am such a huge fan.  It’s so refreshing to find a black woman in the accounting/finance industry at the top of her game.  The story of  how she started out as a secretary and overcame so many obstacles and barriers is such an inspiration to me.  I got a chance to have a one on one with her, and she gave some really great advice.  I even signed up to volunteer at her camp this summer!  I’m so excited to keep in touch with her, and  hopefully have her be my mentor. 😀
As I approached her to express my admiration for her, I was so surprised that before I could even get it out, she started praising me for my skirt! Â I surprisingly got quite a few compliments on it. Â I think it’s because of the color. Â You don’t come across too many brown skirts, especially (faux) leather ones. Â My leopard scarf really made the skirt pop. I don’t own any brown pumps, so I opted for nude to finish the look. Â I love wearing earth tones. Â They’re very relaxing and easy on the eyes. Â This is a great way to transition from the dark cold winter looks to the bright spring fashion.
